Yes, Me! I am the one that is not ready for Middle School!, I realized this fact as I was dropping off my son in front of his school, he was going to his 5
th grade orientation
for students only, so I felt a bit nostalgic when he got out of the car, blew me a kiss and went in to the school skipping; it seems like it was yesterday that I went with him to his first day of school in Kindergarten and I remember clearly that on that day we were given a small bag, one of those sandwich bags, and in it there was a sticker that said: Gentle! I just dropped off my kid at their first day of school; a Band-Aid with a note that explained that it was for our broken hearts; a Hershey Kiss , so that we would be left with a sweet kiss, and a small packet of Kleenex…you all know for what…and obviously this was the first item I used ( I already mentioned that I cry easily and for just about everything)…and there were two or three more items in the bag that I just don’t remember, I thought it was quite nice and sweet from the school to have that gesture with us, it meant a lot to me and as you can see I have not forgotten about it, I don’t know if other schools do this, but for me it was nice and meaning full….and it was to that day that my thoughts traveled to as I was driving back home…alone….and I noticed I was not given a little bag like that, however I felt that I needed it, since all of a sudden I realized that my son is a bit more independent each day that goes by, and that before I know it I will be driving him to a University and on that day not only will I need! A bag like that but also a few of those Adult Beverages 🙂
