Mis Hobbies / My Hobbies

Yo nunca me considere una persona que le interesaran las manualidades, crecí con una artista, pero yo no herede ese «gene artístico»…. bueno eso pensaba. Hace un par de años me comencé a interesar por el Crochet, y muy recientemente me llamo la atención el Kumihimo. Si ya se… ¿y eso como se come? 🙂 Kumihimo es un trenzado Japonés, la palabra significa «Hilos Recogidos» y aunque parece complicado es súper fácil.

La parte más difícil de mis Hobbies es sacarle el tiempo. No es fácil hacer tiempo para manualidades cuando tienes dos hijos, esposo y bueno siempre hay algo más importante que hacer. Pero le saco el tiempo a hacer estas manualidades porque encuentro que me relajan y me da satisfacción ver que hago cosas que antes ni me llamaban la atención.

Con esto no quiero decir que soy como mi Mami, esa persona artística que hace de todo con facilidad, no, no, o como Mi Mum (mi suegra). Si no fuera por mi suegra que sabe el idioma crochet no me saldría bien esto del crochet. Ellas si saben de manualidades y aprenden rápido las técnicas nuevas. Y la verdad yo no soy así.

Definitivamente que uno cambia con los años 🙂

I never considered myself a crafty person, I grew up with an artist, but I did not inherit one of those «artistic genes»… well I used to think that. Recently – in the last couple of years, I got interested in doing Crochet, and very recently Kumihimo caught my attention. Yes I know… and how do you eat that? 🙂 Kumihimo is a Japanese braiding technique, the word means «Gathered Threads» and even though it looks complicated it’s really easy.

The hardest part about my Hobbies is making time for them. It’s not easy to make time for crafts when you have two kids, a husband and you know there is always something more important to do. I make time to do these things because I find it relaxes me and it makes me feel accomplished when I see the stuff I am able to do now that I once was not even interested in.

I am not saying at all that I am like my Mami, that artistic person, that learns all things with ease, no, no, or like my Mum (my mother in law). If it wasn’t for my Mum, who knows the crochet language very well I wouldn’t be doing much crochet. These two ladies do know about hand crafts and learn new techniques easily. The truth is I am not like that.

One definitely changes with age 🙂

El Control Remoto / The Remote Control

O.K. aquí estoy en el 2014.
Me siento como si alguien presiono el Botón de Adelantar en el control remoto de mi vida y aquí estoy… Desde mi última entrada muchas cosas han ocurrido en mi vida. Nos mudamos, me desgarre un músculo, tuve un aniversario de bodas maravilloso, pase unas fiestas fabulosas en familia y muchísimas cosas más. Entre las metas que tengo para el 2014 es escribir más a menudo y tener tiempo para darle al Botón de Pausa de vez en cuando. Es importante para mi poder darle a «Pausa» y hacerle el tiempo a las cosas importantes de la vida. Para mí este blog es una parte significativa de mi vida, y es por lo cual voy a darle al botón «Pausa» y voy a disfrutar mi escritura 🙂 espero la disfrutes conmigo.

O.K. here I am in 2014.
I feel like someone pressed my life’s Fast Forward button and here I am… Since my last post a lot has happened in my life. We moved, I tore a muscle, had an amazing wedding anniversary, great holidays with family among many, many other things. Among my goals for 2014 is to write more and to have time to press the Pause button every now and then. I find it really important to be able to «Pause» and make time for the important things in life. For me this blog is a significant part of my life, therefore I will hit «Pause» and enjoy my writing 🙂 I hope you will enjoy it with me.
